TROIS-RIVIERES, Quebec (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — In 1987, the U.N. General Assembly dedicated the 26 of June, International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. This is an international celebration and a worldwide stand taken to strengthen action and cooperation throughout the globe, all working together to achieve a drug free society. Along with all the Narconon® centers internationally, Narconon Trois-Rivieres will be celebrating this day Friday June 26, with a special graduation.
Former graduates will be giving testimonials talking about this year’s UNODC anti-drug day theme, which is, “Do drugs control your life? Your life. Your community. No place for drugs.”
This will be included in a soon to be released recording of a Narconon Trois-Rivieres graduation, all dedicated to support the cause of eradicating the international problem of drug abuse. This will all be posted in the new Narconon drug rehab blog.
Millions of people across the globe are affected by drug addiction. A graduate of 2005 commented on this by saying: “It is truly sad to see parts of the world dominated by drugs. It’s a plague in the civilized world that destroys people’s lives. The individuals, groups, and organizations pushing these drugs are making millions off the suffering of others. Sadly enough, this is an all too common occurrence in today’s society. These people suffering in third world countries don’t have access to the resources we have in the Western part of the world. A betterment group like the Narconon drug education program has dedicated and caring people working for them to help battle this problem. There are also hundreds of other betterment groups and charitable organizations all doing the same thing. The International Day against Drug Abuse is a great way to recognize the hard work these groups put forward. All working together to solve this problem is the only way a drug-free planet can be created.”
The Narconon Trois-Riveres drug rehab program will record this weeks graduates at our weekly graduation, and will post other videos and pictures on the Narconon Web site, narconon.ca/ . With thousands of different groups recognizing this day, the message will be heard across the globe.
