TAMPA, Fla. /Florida Newswire/ — The Tampa Dragons, a new team in the up-and-coming national Sky Ball League, can be seen battling the Los Angeles 405′s in the Sky Ball League semi-finals (previously taped in L.A.) airing August 20 and 27, 2011 in Florida on the Fox Sports Network, on WTVT-13 in Tampa and on DIRECTV nationwide (check local listings for times). The Dragons consist of 5 male and 3 female Tampa locals who were selected from over a hundred hopefuls to compete in the first season of this already popular next generation coed sport.

Brian Dunkleman, one of the original co-hosts of American Idol, hosts the 16 episodes in the Sky Ball League series, which was created by Brian Kessler, who designed the Sky Ball, and sports executive Danny Swartz. “Sky Ball is an energetic combination of basketball, baseball and volleyball, with a little lacrosse thrown in,” says Kessler. “The game uses Sky Balls and smash gloves and is played on a court with goals set at each end that consist of three scoring pads 12 feet to 17 feet high.”

Slightly larger than a softball and constructed of a special combination of plastic and rubber material that is pumped with oxygen and helium, Sky Balls are capable of bouncing up to 75 feet. “Besides the requisite physical dexterity, the challenge to players,” says Swartz, “is that they must not only excel in controlling the ball, but the skillful manipulation of a challenging piece of equipment.”

“Age knows no bounds,” Kessler adds. “Across the league, this season’s players range between 18 and 39, and neither age nor gender has made a bit of difference on how well anyone plays.”

The four teams that were formed and competed in the first season of Sky Ball League – http://www.skyballleague.com – are the Tampa Dragons, Austin Starz, Youngstown Ballers and Los Angeles 405s. The final episode in the series will feature the remaining two teams standing, who will compete in the Tournament of Champions in Los Angeles. This final smackdown determines who gets the winner’s purse of $40,000.

TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 16 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Just released this week by Good Gets Better Publishing, is a new Christmas song, titled “Haley’s Christmas,” performed by 13 year old Haley Mann. Haley’s Christmas tells the story of a young girl who looks forward to seeing her father on Christmas day who only visits her once a year.

Instead of the normal expectations of many children who look forward to Christmas and to the gifts they will receive, Haley points out the one thing that matters most; the love for family and the relationship between a father and daughter.

Today, with so much separation of family members due to divorce or jobs, or even military assignment, Haley’s Christmas is a great reminder for 2010 that the most important values of the holiday season are those of family and the strength of those relationships.

“I believe that this song has a statement to make in 2010,” says songwriter Kimberly Fuller, who wrote the song.

“I was inspired by my two daughters, who have not seen their father since they were 8 yrs old, and only ever received a card for Christmas from him, and not every Christmas.”

Haley’s Christmas is a great inspiration for the 2010 holiday season.

TAMPA, Fla. /Florida Newswire/ — Telovations Inc., a leading provider of hosted voice services to business customers, today announced it has expanded the Telovations Real-Time Network(SM) throughout the U.S. with the launch of a nationwide flat-rate Managed MPLS Network. The Managed MPLS Network will provide the necessary backbone for Telovations to expand its outsourced communications solutions to business customers that also require a wide area network for connectivity between branch locations.

“Telovations’ Managed MPLS Network is helping our customers significantly reduce communications expenses and allows them the flexibility to expand and contract their voice and data services on demand,” said Rick Schonbrun, president and CEO of the Tampa-based firm. “Customers are increasingly looking at outsourcing as a cost-effective way to leverage new technology without the upfront capital cost of premise-based systems.”

Four Rivers Peterbilt of Savannah, Ga., a leading dealer of Peterbilt Trucks, with four locations in the Southeast, recently upgraded its frame relay network to the Telovations Managed MPLS Network and saved 32 percent annually, while substantially increasing the quality of service for both voice and data between locations. “During these challenging economic times we are always looking for new ways to save money and increase our service to customers,” said Jim Elliott, CEO of Four Rivers Peterbilt. “Outsourcing the management of our network routers and the connectivity between our sites provides Four Rivers with increased operational efficiency, which helps make us more competitive.”

“Telovations IP voice services are part of the large IP MPLS VPN market, which hit $14.9 billion worldwide in 2008,” stated Michael Howard, principal analyst at Infonetics Research, “and we expect continued healthy growth in reaching $19.9 billion in 2011.”

With its Managed MPLS Network, Telovations can provide multi-location businesses with cost-saving services, including Managed SIP Trunking, Hosted PBX, Unified Communications and Mobility solutions. These innovative services are delivered in an outsourced, variable-cost business model, which helps to increase efficiencies and decrease the demand on internal IT resources.
