ROCKLEDGE, Fla. /Florida Newswire/ — LRM Industries, LLC(TM), headquartered in Rockledge, Florida, has been selected by Eastern Rail Corporation to manufacture thermoplastic composite infrastructure components for the nation’s electric railways. LRM’s proprietary, totally automated TPF ThermoPlastic Flowforming(TM) process will be used to mold long fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite components for a durable replacement of aging or damaged railway structures made of wood, steel or traditional fiberglass.

Mold production has been commissioned by Eastern Rail for the first contracted program phase, and LRM will commence with component manufacturing in early 2009. This first program will be safety cover boards and side plates for the third or “hot” rail on electric rail systems.

LRM’s TPF ThermoPlastic Flowforming(TM) technology allows for part production with very little trim and waste, and all excess material is recycled back into part production. This environmentally responsible closed-loop process extends to final products produced, which are totally recyclable.

Mickey Morales, President of Eastern Rail Corporation commented, “LRM is an innovative, leading-edge company with unique technology and a state-of-the-art facility. They are the ideal partner for providing us with strong, durable infrastructure components for our country’s railway systems.”

LRM and Eastern Rail are in the design phase for additional major programs to be produced in 2009.

Company Information

Eastern Rail Corporation is a certified DBE Company serving the nation’s railway systems, and is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council. Located in Miami, Florida, the minority-owned company has extensive experience in railway systems repair, maintenance and component design.

LRM Industries, LLC(TM) is a joint venture company of NOVA Chemicals Inc. (NCX) and Envirokare Tech, Inc. (ENVK) LRM was established to commercialize TPF ThermoPlastic Flowforming(TM) technology, a radically new and award-winning process technology for producing large, feature-rich, long-fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite parts in one fully automated molding operation. With the TPF ThermoPlastic Flowforming(TM) technology and the new STF Sheetless ThermoForming(TM) technology, LRM enables new innovative applications and designs in the use of plastics and thermoplastic composites to produce very large unitary structures where, to-date, it has been viewed as cost prohibitive or lacking in strength and structural integrity.

ROCKLEDGE, Fla. /Florida Newswire/ — LRM Industries, LLC, headquartered in Rockledge, Florida, announces a new innovative production line, custom designed for the unique, patent-pending STF Sheetless ThermoForming(TM) technology, which was invented by LRM in 2007. This novel line produces large thermoformed parts on 3 to 5 trolleys in a circular track architecture, coating molten polymer directly onto onboard traditional thermoforming molds.

These trolleys are computer controlled and all elements required for part molding are onboard. Pre-manufactured sheets are not required with the STF Sheetless ThermoForming(TM) process, allowing a significant savings in the production of large heavy-gauge parts, and very high productivity.

During the commercialization of this new technology, LRM has demonstrated that “coating” the mold directly with a profiled extruded sheet allows the production of deep-draw products with minimum thinning. A wide array of polymers can be used, and all trim and finishing waste is recycled onsite for reuse in part production. Additionally, thermoplastic composite thermoformed parts and structures can be molded using long fiber reinforcement with this same breakthrough, one-step process technology.

This new production line is designed to leverage the inherent advantages of going from thermoplastic resin directly to a large thermoformed part in one process cycle, putting LRM Industries in a unique position globally.

ROCKLEDGE, Fla. /Florida Newswire/ — LRM Industries, LLC, a manufacturer of large plastic and composite structures headquartered in Rockledge, Florida, announces the launch of a new website. The site – www.LRMind.com – has a new design and new content, reflecting the expanding offering of LRM’s rapidly growing portfolio of technology and products to improve the competitiveness, utility and versatility of large plastic structures in many markets.

LRM’s award winning, patented TPF ThermoPlastic Flowforming(TM) technology, upon which the company was founded in 2005, is prominently featured as a unique and innovative process for producing large, feature-rich structural plastic and long fiber reinforced composite components and parts. No other process in the world can match the structural design capabilities of TPF while producing very large structures cost effectively.

Newly featured on the website is LRM’s proprietary and revolutionary STF Sheetless ThermoForming(TM) technology. Invented just one year ago and commercialized in the third quarter of 2007, this process allows the production of large thermoformed parts without the need for and added cost of preformed thermoplastic sheets. This one-step production of large thermoformed products allows for unprecedented savings.

Application examples for LRM’s two unique technologies as well as a new branded product leveraging the strengths of the company’s processes are also highlighted on the site. The EverDock(TM) modular dock, constructed entirely with thermoplastic composites, illustrates the strengths and utility of LRM’s technology.
