Cultural Visionary Ms. Alyona Ushe

POMPANO BEACH, Fla., April 6, 2016 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Alyona Ushe, who helmed the critically acclaimed Arts Garage in Delray Beach for five years, has announced her resignation as President & CEO of the cultural venue in order to focus on managing and programming venues in Pompano Beach, including the amphitheater (theamppompano.org) and the upcoming cultural center (ccpompano.org).

Ushe has garnered a national reputation for launching and developing new cultural venues including Classika Theatre in Washington, D.C., BaCA in Pompano Beach, Arts Garage in Delray Beach and expanding the vision of The New Orleans Opera Association.

“I am very proud of my role with Arts Garage during these past five years,” said Ushe. “Managing and programing a venue that grew from concept to a national model was both exceptionally challenging and incredibly rewarding. My career path, however, has always been focused on launching new venues, and I am just thrilled to now be able to put all of my energies and creativity on Pompano Beach.”

Ushe and her executive team, began working with the city of Pompano Beach in 2014 and have achieved tremendous success. With the impending launch of the new cultural center in early 2017, Ushe determined this was the strategic time to put her entire focus on the explosion of creativity happening in Pompano Beach.

Key staff members will be working with Ushe in Pompano Beach including Lyle Cayce, VP of Communications; Michelle Gabriel, Director of Programming; and Byron Swart, Artistic Director and Curator.

“We are excited to be part of the team that will be creating a new artistic force in Pompano Beach,” said Swart.

“We are thrilled that Alyona and her team will be able to devote all of their talents to Pompano Beach,” said Mark Beaudreau, Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Director. “What they have accomplished for our city with programming the amphitheater has been outstanding, and we are looking forward to their next phase of creativity as we continue to build upon the success of The Amp and introduce our new cultural center.”
