SANTA CLARA, Calif. — SecuGen is pleased to announce that iPulse Systems, South Africa’s leading biometrics company, has selected SecuGen’s SDA04M fingerprint module as the core fingerprint engine for the iPB6, the next generation in biometric readers. Incorporating a full LINUX operating system, and running embedded C applications, the iPB6 is one of the toughest multipurpose biometric access control products designed with endless flexibility and ability to withstand extreme climate conditions and massive temperature fluctuations. The SecuGen SDA04M is a rugged, high performance and affordable OEM fingerprint module that can hold up to 10,000 users (20,000 templates) and perform a blazingly fast 1:N search on all 10,000.
“We selected the SecuGen fingerprint sensor because we are constantly seeking the best possible components for our products,” stated Gary Chalmers, CEO of iPulse. “After extensive research and exhaustive testing, we were confident of the capability of the SDA04M. Nothing on the market today can compete with it.”
In addition to the groundbreaking speed and performance of the SDA40M sensor, the iPB6 features innovations in connectivity options, such as 10/100 Ethernet with DHCP, GPRS/3G over GSM, wireless 802.11g/n and a patent-pending 1-wire relay for secure communications and unique bonding of the door relays with the readers. The iPB6 also boasts a 2.2″ active TFT screen, support for 27 languages and an IP65 rating, which all add up to ensure that the unit is leagues ahead of any other reader in its class.
The iPB6 unit is completely compatible with the SecuGen range of fingerprint readers, and works seamlessly with the Hamster Plus, as well as the older products in the iPulse range, such as the IDU5, thanks to the backward compatibility of the new SecuGen sensor with older generation products.
“iPulse is the clear leader in providing biometric solutions in South Africa,” stated Jeff Brown, VP of Sales for SecuGen. “We are very proud to have been selected by them. iPulse displays a commitment and dedication to customer success that is inspiring, and this is clearly the reason that they dominate their market.”
Won Lee, CEO of SecuGen, added, “The SecuGen team is completely dedicated to providing the best possible fingerprint recognition technology and products for our expanding partner base. We are very excited to be working with iPulse.”
