ResinWorks

TIPP CITY, Ohio, June 17, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The Conair ResinWorks(TM) system offers a new level of manufacturing efficiency for plastic injection molding operations at Proto Plastics, of Tipp City, Ohio.

The drying system consolidates resin handling and pre-conditioning into a central area, allowing material changes to take place quickly, cleanly, and safely away from the processing machine.

“The ResinWorks system allow us to dramatically decrease the amount of time it takes to dry the materials we use in the injection molding process,” says Dave Gagnon, Director of Operations at Proto Plastics. “This means we’re able to move through molding jobs faster due to less time spent on the drying that happens between molding operations.”

The simplified resin dehumidification is the heart of the ResinWorks system, where multiple hoppers are supplied on a common pre-plumbed, pre-wired sled, and connected to a dehumidifying dryer to provide superior drying and maximum productivity. Individual sleds are connected to form an efficient, centralized resin drying area supplying Proto Plastics’s injection molding machines, with a wide array of dried resins.

“There are cost savings benefits to this for sure,” says Gagnon. “We now have one dryer for 4 hoppers, so the ResinWorks drying system eliminates the use of 3 individual dryers, saving energy and money.”

Plastic injection molding is an extremely competitive industry, so cost savings that can be passed along to the customer are essential to business growth. The drying system which went online in May, has already begun delivering benefits from its introduction within the Proto Plastics injection molding operation.
