student information system

MESA, Ariz., Aug. 13, 2015 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Edupoint(R) Educational Systems – a leading student information system (SIS) provider for the national K-12 market, has been selected by Espanola Public Schools (EPS) to implement its Synergy Education Platform. Seeking to replace a legacy student information system (SIS) that no longer met district needs, EPS sought a solution that would provide an integrated SIS and Individualized Education Program (IEP) suite and provide real-time access to student data for all education stakeholders.

Espanola Public Schools supports approximately 4,000 students across 14 campuses in northern New Mexico. Faced with an antiquated SIS that was heavily reliant on other disparate systems to perform tasks that a modern student information system should perform, the district issued an RFP for an integrated SIS and Special Education solution. After a successful solution demonstration, the district selected Synergy for its rich feature set and ability to connect education stakeholders – including families – with the right data at the right time to inform decision making and maximize student achievement. Synergy’s intelligent workflows will allow Espanola Public Schools to define key processes step-by-step in the way that works best for the district’s efficient use of resources.

“It became apparent very early on that the Synergy Education Platform would provide us with powerful features and functionality that was not afforded to us with our previous SIS solution,” said Luis Pena, Project Manager for Espanola Public Schools. “Synergy will allow our teachers to have visibility into student performance and be able to create groups for targeted instruction and intervention, as well as break down the walls between school and home to actively engage families in the education process. Among the solutions that we evaluated, Synergy provided not only the strongest feature set, but also the best value.”

The Synergy Education Platform provides powerful SIS functionality with an integrated standards-based grade book, parent and student portals, special education / IEP management, role-based mobile applications, curriculum and learning management, assessment analytics, online registration, and comprehensive state reporting functionality. Synergy’s flexible offerings allow districts to scale and configure the solution to meet their individual needs.

“We are pleased to welcome Espanola Public Schools to the Edupoint family,” says Rob Wilson, Edupoint’s President and Chief Innovation Officer. “Edupoint now serves over 125,000 students in the state, and we look forward to building more longstanding partnerships like this as we grow throughout New Mexico.”

Espanola Public Schools is currently establishing a district migration timeline with plans to go live with Synergy in time for the 2016/17 academic school year.
